So it seems that, whether I like it or not, I decided to spend the rest of the day doing genealogical stuff. I watched a number of videos produced by Ancestry.com, including a number of their commercials. Maybe I'm just weird, but some of their commercials move me so powerfully that it brings tears to my eyes. I'd say that's pretty good evidence that genealogy is one of my passions now, and not a mere side hobby. A few examples of those commercials:
I've also identified some things I'll need to search for in the 1860 and 1870 censuses when I finally get paid access to their databases again, and now I've spent the last hour or so uploading photos to various individuals in my family tree. There were apparently a number I hadn't gotten around to posting. I now have 25 pictures featuring my great-grandmother Catherine Priscilla Root nee Stick... But I really must reach out to a few of my living cousins, aunts, uncles, and so forth to gather more data and perhaps even find a few additional family photos.
